BookWormLab.com is entering its 9th year as an online writing service. During these years, many customers have passed through its doors and have given us a lot of information and feedback about the quality of products and services. In addition to these customer reviews, we have investigated this company using a lot of criteria – Book Worm Lab site content, samples and blogs if available, information provided about its writers, our personal experience with the BookWormLab customer support team, and the results from our order of a research paper from the company. These are the results of our study.

Products and Services

BookWormLab.com offers academic writing of any type to students from high school through Ph.D. and other professional programs. These include all of the standard writing assignments that students might be tasked with by teachers and professors. Additional services include resumes, CV’s, admissions and scholarship essays, coursework help and test-taking.

Grad students will also find assistance with theses and dissertations.

Website Quality

The site is well-organized with content that speaks to the products and services, pricing, benefits, etc. It was very difficult to find some content, as it was “buried in very fine and dark print at the bottom of each page. There are policies here, but also important link, like to a sitemap and to samples of writing. It is almost as if the company does not want visitors to find them.

The links at the top of each page take visitors to pricing, ordering, FAQ’s, contact information and a blog.

Though the content writers tried hard to compose in proper English, there were some English language usage errors that hinted at ESL writers.

Quality of Products and Services

We evaluate quality by the samples posted on the site, along with the posted testimonials. We also factor in off-site customer reviews, the quality of the blog postings, and, of course, the quality of the research paper we ordered.

We found that Book Worm Lab reviews off-site were quite mixed, and there were a number of complaints expressed about the quality of the writing, as well as unsuitable sophistication of writing for the customer’s academic level. Basically, students at the university level felt that the writing was more reflective of a high school piece, as well as the resources used. Others complained that the money-back guarantee was not honored.

We reviewed some of the samples on the site. One was a case study on Wells Fargo. It was about 2 pages in length and did not follow any structure that we know for a case study. These are generally major pieces of writing completed by graduate students and are many more pages and include far more resources.

The paper we ordered reflected very simplistic language and vocabulary, and contained language usage errors that are indicative of ESL writers, although the site insists that its writers are all natives of the U.S. and UK.

Relative to BookWormLab customer support, we were again disappointed. It seems quite likely that they are using an answering service rather than in-house trained employees. The representatives we spoke with, by phone and live chat, had to place us “on hold” while they found the answers to our questions.

Prices and Discounts

We found a pricing chart. Prices begin at $21/page for a high school essay with a 10-day deadline and graduate up to $47/page for Ph.D. level work with an urgent deadline. We were also told that a full dissertation could be completed in six days. Really? We could not find any discounts or a promo code for special pricing. Nor were there any mentions of customer loyalty discounts or coupon codes as most other services offer. This made the pricing a bit high – our 8-page paper with a 7-day deadline was $176.00. Considering the quality, we think they are over-priced.

We can say, however, that, even though it does not have a BBB membership, Book Worm Lab is not a fraud or scam.

Extra Features

The policies state that all work is checked for plagiarism and that revisions are free. We did not find any other special features.

Conclusion

In considering pros & cons of this writing service, we do have concerns about quality for higher-than-average pricing. Our review was comprehensive and thorough, and we are providing an overall rating of “Fair.”
