Ultius.com is an American writing service that targets students, business professionals, and job seekers. On their website, Ultius makes the claim that all of their services are provided in America, and that no work is outsourced overseas (we’ll address this later). Before we begin our website review of Ultius, let us go through the process that we take in order to insure that our review is thorough and fair.

Products And Services

Ultius offers writing services that are geared towards students, job seekers, and business professionals and entrepreneurs. For students, product offerings included term papers, research papers, dissertation and thesis help, and other common academic papers. Their category of business writing is a little bit out of whack. They do include business plan writing, along with CV and resume writing. This makes sense. We’re unsure why college application essays fall under this category, or why writing services such as blog posts, web content, articles, or press releases are not listed. When people think of business writing, this is what they expect.

Website Quality

Visually, the website is stunning. We can also say that it is easy to navigate. The problem comes with the web content itself. We’ve noticed that some of the writing is just a little bit off. For example, they refer to their writing as beautiful work. That’s not a way that a native English speaker would describe a professional piece of writing. A review that we read described having difficulty dealing with the color schemes on some of the pages.

Quality of Products and Services

We asked for an essay that was four pages long and due in 20 days. We wanted to really get a good idea about quality and delivery time. We really thought we would get the paper early, as 20 days as an exceptionally long time. We were surprised that they actually did take the entire 20 days. This wasn’t a problem for us, but the quality of writing certainly was. There were lots of the kind of errors that indicate the work wasn’t done by an English speaking writer. We know that the testimonials really push the ‘Made in America’ agenda, and it certainly is possible for someone to be an American  while not being a native English speaker. However, people should be aware that American Made, does not mean native English speaking.

We inquired about having our paper corrected. The customer service representative insisted that we would have to pay for those revisions. In their words, the errors on our paper were reasonable and not excessive. Needles to say we aren’t giving them a very high rating in terms of quality or customer service.

Prices And Discounts

The paper that we ordered cost 21 dollars per page.That is very high for an undergraduate paper with such a long deadline. Considering lack of quality, this price is really off base. Even worse, we were not offered a promo code or given access to any coupon codes.

Extra Features

There are definitely extra features here. We found lots of information about the company’s history and mission statement. The blog also appears to be very current and very relevant. Unfortunately, that kind of represents the problem. Too much effort is focused on creating a brand, a mission statement, and putting forth a great content marketing effort while quality is suffering.

Conclusion

The point of writing a review is to weigh out the pros & cons. Unfortunately, there are too many negatives at this time.
